"Talk Therapy: Like Googling Your Problems, but Better."
Welcome!
If you're here contemplating whether therapy in general, these specific services, or Brittany as a therapist is right for you, please feel free to book a free 15 min. consultation call where you can ask any questions that you might have. Brittany can help provide some insight that might help you feel more confident in a decision. The fit between client and therapist is one of the most influential factors in determining success in therapy, and we understand how overwhelming it can be finding a therapist. Brittany can also offer alternative referrals that might support your search for the right fit.
Caring for young ones can feel like a roller coaster ride that is full of rewards and challenges.
At Ratcliffe Psychology we understand that every family is unique, and we are here to provide compassionate support tailored to your specific needs. Our parenting support services are designed to empower parents and guardians, enhance family dynamics, and foster healthy relationships.
Our services include:
SPACE treatment -
SPACE stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions and is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems.
Parent consultations - These can be one-time or check-in style individual appointments where we discuss challenges, successes, and tangible strategies to implement.
Parent-child sessions -
Appointments where both child and parent/guardian(s) are involved in working towards goals. This service is offered for parent/guardians of younger children and is play-based. For services involving older children, often we make referrals for family therapy (*family therapy is not currently offered at Ratcliffe Psychology).
At Ratcliffe Psychology, we are committed to helping you thrive as a parent. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where you can explore your parenting journey, develop new skills, and foster a loving, supportive family atmosphere. "You see a child play, and it is so close to seeing an artist paint, for in play a child says things without uttering a word." - Erik Erikson
Children often express their thoughts and feelings through play rather than words. Our Play Therapy services are designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and enhance their social abilities through the natural medium of play. Brittany is trained in advanced Play Therapy skills and utilizes a variety of play techniques to help children communicate, process experiences, and foster personal growth.
Our Services Include:
Individual Play Therapy Sessions
Each child is unique, and play therapy sessions are tailored to meet their specific needs. Through a mix of child and therapist lead play, children can express themselves freely, find different experience in their emotions, and build skills that can transition outside of the play.
Parent Involvement and Support
Collaboration with parents is essential for effective therapy. Brittany provides regular updates and guidance to parents and guardians, helping them understand their child’s experiences, communication, and progress, offering strategies to support their work at home. This support sometimes looks like individual appointments with parents/guardians, and at times involves the parent in the play session.

Navigating the teenage years can be a journey filled with emotional ups and downs, identity exploration, and social pressures. Brittany offers specialized Teen Therapy services designed to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where adolescents can express themselves, explore their feelings, and develop essential coping skills. Brittany is dedicated to helping teens navigate this critical stage of life with confidence and resilience.
Our services include:
Individual sessions to support teens through interpersonal relationship challenges, concerns around social media, school related concerns, risk related concerns (i.e. self-harming behaviour and suicidality), coping skill development and distress tolerance, identity and life transition struggles, and more.
With over a decade supporting this population, Brittany is committed to empowering teens to navigate their emotions, build resilience, and develop a strong sense of self. Our Teen Therapy services aim to create a positive and transformative experience that fosters personal growth and emotional well-being.
At times, Brittany also offers group therapy as an additional service to support client need. Group therapy is a unique option that allows for a sense of community, peer support, and skill building opportunities not available to the context of individual therapy.
Please contact Brittany to inquire about current or upcoming group therapy options. They will also be listed here when running.
